South Korea, EU Pledge Joint Action Against North Korea’s Crypto Theft
South Korea and the European Union have agreed to intensify collaborative efforts in cybersecurity, specifically targeting North Korea’s illicit cryptocurrency activities. The commitment was formalized during a high-level policy dialogue in Seoul, where officials emphasized the growing sophistication of cyber threats and the necessity for a unified response.
Youn Jong-kwon, South Korea’s Foreign Ministry director-general for international security, led the discussions. Both parties called for enhanced international cooperation, including intelligence sharing and coordinated actions in global forums like the United Nations.
